Early Milan vs. Roma predictions indicate that the current champions will prevail when the Giallorossi visit the San Siro on Sunday. However, it may be a close game, which will serve as a good test of Roma’s ability to contend for a top-four finish!

On Sunday night, Milan will host Roma at the San Siro in an effort to maintain the form that has allowed them to remain competitive with Napoli at the top and has their supporters daydreaming of back-to-back scudetti for the first time since 1994.

Rafael Leo opened the scoring for the Rossoneri on Wednesday, helping them to their first three points of 2023 despite a late scare against Salernitana.

The Portugal international has been heavily linked with a move away in the transfer window but looked dangerous and could well find the net again on Sunday against Roma.

Roma’s defence is as tight as you would expect it to be under Jose Mourinho’s leadership, but Milan has averaged almost two goals per game this season and might be able to do the same in this match.

To win their first game back following the World Cup break, Roma had to settle for a penalty kick from Lorenzo Pellegrini early on against Bologna.

Mourinho’s potential injuries to Nicolo Zaniolo and Paulo Dybala will undoubtedly have worsened his mood, and he will undoubtedly prepare a defensive game this weekend.

1×2 Betting Odds

Due to the continued dominance of the other Serie A superpowers, the Giallorossi have been unable to crack the top four this season.

It is difficult to see them overcoming Milan at the San Siro and changing that on Sunday.

And the betting market agrees!

AC Milan in their pursuit of winning the league back-to-back and catching up with Napoli will have to defeat Roma at home.

And in doing just that, they are the favourites in this contest with market odds @ 1.95.

AS Roma under Mourinho have had an excellent defence this season, but yet they are the underdogs in this one with odds standing @ 4.50.

The possibility of a stalemate and points shared between these two big clubs of Italy, stands @ 3.72.

Total goals over/under

The odds that the total number of goals scored will be over 2.5, stands @ 2.16.

While the odds that the total number of goals will be under 2.5, stands @ 1.85.

Usually, when two big teams play against each other, it is expected to be a tight affair! And Roma and AC Milan are certainly the two big teams of Italy… and given the fact the Roma has played extremely well in defence, expect a low scoring affair in Milan!
